As Drazan Campaign Struggles, She Bets On Support From Anti-Abortion Extremists

Portland, OR - With a struggling campaign and limited time left, MAGA Republican Christine Drazan is betting on support from anti-abortion extremist group Oregon Right To Life to prop up her flailing bid for governor.

Oregon Right To Life, a radical group that opposes abortion with no exceptions for rape, incest, or health of the mother, added language to their donation page that states "We're heavily involved in turning out the pro-life vote to oust Kotek and elect pro-life leaders at all levels of government." They also released a video affirming their support for Drazan, who they've already endorsed.

Despite recent ads attempting to mislead voters about her extreme views on abortion, Drazan celebrated the overturning of Roe v. Wade and sponsored legislation that could jail Oregon's abortion providers. Her far-right record includes:

• Applauding the Supreme Court's decision to overturnRoe v. Wade, paving the way for abortion bans across the country
• Voting against legislation to protect access to abortion in Oregon from federal attacks
• Pledging to veto any legislation that would expand abortion access
• Voting against using state dollars to backfill funding to Planned Parenthood
• Referring to herself as a "pro-life woman"
• Supporting a ballot measure that would prohibit public funds from being spent on abortions in Oregon

"Christine Drazan wants to have it both ways: telling voters she'll respect Oregon's abortion laws while continuing to receive campaign assistance from the state's most radical anti-abortion group," said Democratic Party of Oregon Executive Director Candy Emmons. "Oregonians can see right through this deception. Across the country, we've seen Drazan's MAGA allies enact draconian abortion restrictions that allow politicians to control women's bodies. Drazan's alliance with anti-abortion extremists like Oregon Right to Life isn't a coincidence - it's exactly who she is."
