The City of Lewisville is seeking residents who need help rehabbing their home as part of the For Love of Lewisville day of service, and volunteers who want to make a difference in their community.
For the Love of Lewisville day of service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24. Activities begin at 6:30 a.m. at Bill Weaver Arena, 101 Parkway Drive.
Assistance will be provided to single-family homeowners that have limited financial means, are disabled or have functional challenges, are senior citizens, and veterans.
Homeowners who need assistance can register online to be considered for this event. There is no guarantee an application will be approved. Project requests are dependent on volunteer capability and abilities.
Volunteers will assist in providing various repairs/improvements throughout the city ranging from yard work to park cleanup. Volunteer tasks can range from raking leaves, trimming trees or hedges, painting, mowing, washing windows, cleaning, sweeping, moving debris, and more.
Volunteers can sign up at
volunteer.cityoflewisville.com. The event is open to groups, families, individuals, and skilled professionals.
For the Love of Lewisville strengthens community and creates resiliency by addressing real physical needs in the community while improving community relationships and building community.
