Get to know UNM library colleagues through their scholarship! On Wednesday, Nov. 12, University Libraries, the Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center (HSLIC), and the UNM Law Library host an event to showcase research works contributed by faculty and staff with the campus community. As part of UNM Research & Discovery Week, community members are invited to drop in anytime during the celebration to enjoy research presentations, lightning talks, posters, refreshments and more. The event runs from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the HSLIC Building on North Campus
"We are excited to celebrate the scholarship of our library colleagues across all three campuses. The breadth and quality of research represented, from innovative teaching practices to explorations of information access, showcase the essential role libraries play in advancing knowledge at UNM and beyond," said Amy Jackson, associate dean of the College of University Libraries and Learning Sciences.
This year's event builds upon the success of HSLIC Scholarship Day, an event first held on North Campus in 2023. This year will share research developed by library employees of all three Albuquerque campuses.
"UNM Library Scholarship Day is more than a showcase-it's a cross-campus conversation about the future of research, learning and collaboration. If you're curious, creative, or just looking for a reason to get out of your office, this is it," said Melissa Rethlefsen, executive director and professor of the Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center. "We're excited to welcome the campus community into the newly renovated Health Sciences Library & Informatics Center for this special event, which we hope to be the first of many."
