Downey Brand proudly announces that partner Christopher Kolkey has joined the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Sacramento Area's Board of Directors.
"Children are our future, and the importance of role models and mentors cannot be overstated," said Chris. "Big Brothers Big Sisters' mission is an important one, serving to provide a quintessential positive influence in children's lives. At Big Brothers Big Sisters, I hope to further that mission, expanding the organization's reach and commitment to mentorship."
Big Brothers Big Sisters is a national transformative mentoring organization committed to empowering the next generation. Since 1904, the organization has worked under the core belief that every child possesses incredible potential. By creating and sustaining meaningful, one-to-one mentoring relationships between adult volunteers ("Bigs") and children ("Littles"), Big Brothers Big Sisters inspires lasting, positive change. With over 235 agencies nationwide, Big Brothers Big Sisters has supported more than two million children in the past decade.
Chris is a member of the firm's Litigation Department. His practice primarily involves an appellate practice and complex business litigation.
Chris succeeds fellow partner (and former Big) Sean Filippini, who spent 10 years on the Big Brothers Big Sisters Board of Directors over two decades, including serving as Board Chair from 2019 to 2022. Chris's recent appointment continues Downey Brand's longstanding partnership with Big Brothers Big Sisters and its commitment to mentorship and community impact.
