Pitmasters listen up: The BBQ Music Fest returns July 10-12 to Oso Viejo Community Park, and this year's barbecue showdown is shaping up to be the fiercest yet.

Entries are now open for the Backyard BBQ Battle Competition on Sunday, July 12. Only 25 teams will earn a spot in this high-stakes, smoke-filled and rib-slinging battle for barbecue glory. If you think you've got what it takes for this competition-only event, register today.

Teams must bring everything they need such as grills, tools, tents, supplies, and meat. Wood, pellets, charcoal, and propane grills are all welcome. No deep frying, parboiling, ground pits, and no power provided.

Ribs will be judged on appearance, taste, and texture, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three winners - but only one team will walk away as the 2026 Backyard BBQ Battle Champion.
