WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.) today issued the following statement on the 2nd anniversary of the brutal attack on October 7, 2023, by Iranian-backed Hamas terrorists:
"October 7 is a day that will live in infamy as one of the worst attacks on the Jewish people in modern history. For two years, Hamas has waged war on the state of Israel and her people. However, the consequences of this barbaric act of terrorism have been even more far reaching. All across the globe, our Jewish and brothers and sisters have felt this evil weigh heavy on their hearts.
"One such consequence is the shocking rise in antisemitism in America and abroad. The more people who refuse to condemn this despicable violence and hold aggressors accountable, the more we lose our compassion and our humanity. I will always be proud to stand with the Jewish people. May we never forget October 7, the barbaric atrocities of Hamas, the resilience of Israel and her people, the urgent need to bring all hostages home, and our enduring pursuit to combat hatred and violence with goodness and bravery at every turn."
