Be on Alert for Fraudulent Phone Calls Impersonating Virtua Employees

October 26, 2026 - Virtua has received reports of calls impersonating our employees. Please do not give out any information to unknown callers.

Virtua has been alerted to attempted "spoofing" calls, in which bad actors appear to call from a Virtua phone number and claim to represent Virtua staff. This is a widespread problem impacting many regional health systems. If you receive an unexpected or unsolicited call, please think critically and exhibit caution.

If you receive a call claiming to be from Virtua:

  • Do not rely on the incoming caller ID as proof of the caller's identity. Some fraudulent calls have been placed using common Virtua numbers. For example, 856-355-XXXX.
  • Do not provide passwords, authentication codes, or other sensitive information over the phone.
  • Do not visit websites, click links, download software, or follow instructions provided by the caller.

If you have any reason to doubt the legitimacy of the caller, end the call immediately. If you need to speak with a Virtua employee or practice, start a new call using published Virtua contact information.
