Georgia DOT Hosts Virtual Public Information Open House for I-95 Widening

SAVANNAH, GA- The Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) is seeking public comment on the proposed widening of I-95 in Bryan, Chatham, and Effingham Counties. Georgia DOT invites you to review project details and provide input through the virtual Public Information Open House (PIOH) on our online platform at Public Outreach and Community Engagement - Georgia DOT.

The 22 miles of I-95 proposed widening by a single lane in each direction from SR 144/Ford Avenue (Exit 90) to the Savannah River at the Georgia/South Carolina State line will improve travel safety and efficiency for everyone. This project aims to support regional growth and meet current and future transportation needs along the I-95 corridor, driven by planned industrial expansion, population increase, and the growth of the Port of Savannah.

To learn more about the project and share your feedback, visit GDOT's Public Outreach and Community Engagement - Georgia DOT. Comments can be submitted for Project ID 0020169 until Friday, March 27, 2026.

Written statements may be submitted to:
