Traffic detoured during replacement of Shoshoni railroad crossing

SHOSHONI, Wyo - A 14-day detour of U.S. Highway 20/26 traffic on the east end of Shoshoni will allow a contractor to replace the Bighorn Divide and Wyoming Railroad crossing.

The detour is scheduled to be in place between Sept. 17 and Sept. 30, according to Wyoming Department of Transportation project engineer Brian Martin of Riverton.

Prime contractor for the railroad crossing removal/replacement project is Barnum, Inc., of Buffalo.

"The detour is built and ready for use," Martin said.

The contractor expects to complete the project in October.

The contractor's work schedule depends on favorable weather conditions.
