He was followed by Professor Christoph Bläsi from the University of Mainz who presented the Democracies Depend on Reading project. He presented the partners as well as interesting data from a range of countries that demonstrate the evolution of reading and the impact on ability to understand complex ideas.
The third speaker of the morning was Yu Chunchi from China Education Publishing and Media Group. He delivered a detailed presentation on the evolution of the Chinese curriculum, the range of skills being developed and the inclusion of interdisciplinary integration and a fascinating presentation of new tools being used and their promising initial results.
The final segment was a rapid-fire presentation of the situations in Africa, ASEAN, and Australia.
