Harshbarger Staff Deliver Library of Congress Books to Greeneville Middle School

Greeneville, TN. - Staff from the office of U.S. Representative Diana Harshbarger (TN-01) recently visited Greeneville Middle School to deliver a donation of books provided through the U.S. Library of Congress Surplus Books Program.

The delivery is part of the office's ongoing effort to connect East Tennessee schools and community organizations with educational resources through the Library of Congress.

"Reading opens the door to opportunity and lifelong learning," said Congresswoman Harshbarger. "Through the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program, schools like Greeneville Middle are able to expand their library resources and provide students with more opportunities to explore reading. I'm grateful to Joe Mahar and the dedicated Library of Congress staff who work behind the scenes to make these donations possible for communities across our region."

Eligibility requirements include one of the following:

• Full­time, tax­ supported or non-profit educational institution: school, school system, library, childcare or early learning center, college, university, or museum as a few examples.
• Agency of local, state, or federal government.
