Minister Budrys meets the new French Ambassador

On 16 September, the Minister-designate of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Kęstutis Budrys, met with the incoming French Ambassador to Lithuania, Lucie Stepanyan.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral political and economic cooperation, cultural relations, and the implementation of the Strategic Partnership Action Plan, which was signed this summer by the ministers of Lithuania and France.

One of the main topics of the meeting was support for Ukraine and the participation of both countries in the Coalition of the Willing that has been launched by France and the U.K.

According to the Minister, Lithuania and France have long-standing close political, economic, and cultural relations. In addition, the strategic partnership between the two countries has further strengthened in the face of today's geopolitical challenges. Budrys appreciated France's contribution to the security of NATO's eastern flank, joint efforts to strengthen European security, and mobilise support for Ukraine defending itself against Russian aggression.
