DNI Gabbard Welcomes George W. Street as
National Counterintelligence and Security Center Director

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard welcomes George "Wes" Street as the Director of the National Counterintelligence and Security Center (NCSC) following U.S. Senate confirmation. As NCSC Director, Street will lead and support the counterintelligence and security activities of the U.S. Government and serve as the principal counterintelligence and security advisor to the DNI.

"With more than three decades of service in the U.S. counterintelligence community - as a practitioner, manager, and senior leader - Wes is uniquely qualified to spearhead our nation's fight against foreign intelligence threats," said DNI Gabbard. "Wes's experience on the ground as a soldier and Army Counterintelligence Special Agent, as well as on the National Counterintelligence Task Force, gives him the unmatched expertise needed to lead NCSC. I have full confidence in Wes to integrate the nation's operational and strategic counterintelligence efforts for a powerful, unified front against threats to ensure our national security is protected and the American people are safe, secure, and free."

"I am humbled and honored to be confirmed as NCSC Director at this critical juncture," said NCSC Director Street. "The intelligence threats we face today do not respect organizational boundaries, and neither can our response. It's crucial that we marshal every instrument of national power and rally the entire Community in the Counterintelligence Fight. NCSC's strength lies in its ability to see across sectors, coordinate across agencies, and build partnerships that transform individual capabilities into a comprehensive and proactive counterintelligence posture - one that imposes costs on our adversaries and makes America more secure. I am grateful to President Trump and DNI Gabbard for entrusting me to lead NCSC in a challenge so critical to our nation's future."

NCSC Director Wes Street has served in the U.S. counterintelligence community for more than 30 years, including service as an active-duty U.S. Army Soldier and Army Civilian Counterintelligence Special Agent. During this time, Street served in nearly all aspects of the counterintelligence and security communities. He has extensive experience addressing complex counterintelligence challenges around the globe, including numerous deployments in support of combat and peacekeeping operations and through extensive collaborative relationships with partner nation organizations. Most recently, Street served as the U.S. Department of Defense Deputy Director of the National Counterintelligence Task Force.
