Burke County: Pipe replacement scheduled to begin Tuesday

Waynesboro, Ga. - The Georgia Department of Transportation will replace a damaged pipe at US Route 25/State Route 24/State Route 121 and West 4th Street. Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 21, 2025.

Road closures are not scheduled. However, lane closures will be required to perform this work. Drivers should expect the right turn lane on W 4th St. to close for multiple days. Access to Burke Health will not be impacted. Crews may set up additional temporary lane closures while on site to accomplish the repairs.

Advisory: Schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions. Drivers are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through the work zone, stay alert, and watch for workers.
