Minister of Foreign Affairs has a telephone conversation with Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines

On 3 October 2025, H.E. Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Minister of Foreign Affairs, made an introductory phone call to H.E. Maria Theresa P. Lazaro, Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines. The Secretary of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Foreign Minister on his new appointment.

Both sides expressed readiness to work together to further enhance bilateral cooperation, including on trade, investment and food security. The Foreign Minister conveyed his full support for the role of the Philippines as the incoming ASEAN Chair in 2026. He also stated the Thai Government's position to resolve the situation between Thailand and Cambodia peacefully through full utilization of existing bilateral mechanisms.

The Foreign Minister also expressed his condolences following the recent earthquake in Cebu province and stressed Thailand's readiness to render assistance to the Philippines' recovery efforts.
