Portland, OR -The Democratic Party of Oregon released the following statement after reports of Charlie Kirk being shot and killed at an event in Utah:
"Political violence has no place in our society - full stop," said DPO Chair Nathan Soltz. "No matter how abhorrent we may find someone's views, and no matter how vehemently we may disagree with them, violence is simply not the way. Our hearts go out to the family of Charlie Kirk, and the Democratic Party of Oregon continues to condemn political violence in the strongest terms. Our democracy is strong when we exchange ideas, not gunfire. Gun violence devastates communities, and we must do all we can to see it end."
