Full Closure Scheduled for Westbound State Route 4 (SR-4) between Alhambra Avenue and Cummings Skyway on-ramp in Contra Costa County

Motorists advised to use Alhambra Avenue detour to Franklin Canyon Road

Contra Costa County - Caltrans has scheduled a full overnight closure of all westbound lanes on State Route 4 (SR-4) between the Alhambra Avenue exit and the Cummings Skyway on-ramp in the city of Martinez to perform paving operations along the highway. The westbound Alhambra Avenue exit will remain open to facilitate the detour.

Closures Schedule: **All work is weather dependent and subject to change**

  • Friday, October 24th - 7 PM to 5 AM
  • Saturday, October 25th - 7 PM to 5 AM
  • Monday, October 27th - 7 PM to 5 AM

Detour Information Westbound SR-4

  • Exit Alhambra Avenue
  • Turn left on Alhambra Avenue and turn right to Franklin Canyon Road continue on Franklin Canyon Road
  • Re-enter Westbound SR-4 via the Cummings Skyway on-ramp

Eastbound SR-4 traffic is not expected to be affected.

Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time.
