Maine Democrat Scott Harriman Clinches Victory in House District 94 Special Election, Defending Democrats’ House Majority Arrow

Last night, Democratic candidate Scott Harriman defeated his extreme MAGA opponent in the House District 94 special election, ensuring Democrats retain their narrow majority in the House. With this victory, Democrats have now overperformed or won in 251 out of 281 key elections since Donald Trump took office.

The DNC supported Harriman's campaign in the lead-up to Election Day. Last week, DNC Chair Ken Martin traveled to Lewiston to campaign for Harriman and rally Maine voters.

In Maine and across the country, voters are turning their back on Trump and Republicans' toxic, out-of-touch agenda that is raising prices, predicted to rip away health care from 33,000 Mainers, and putting two Maine rural hospitals at risk of closure. Instead, voters are putting their faith in strong Democratic leaders like Harriman, who are focused on delivering on the kitchen-table issues affecting Maine families most.

In response to Harriman's victory, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

"Scott Harriman ran a tremendous campaign that was laser-focused on delivering real solutions that will drive Maine forward. With his victory, Mainers gain another strong, commonsense Democratic leader who will fight on their behalf to lower costs, protect health care, and create jobs in their community. With this victory, Democrats are all hands on deck to strengthen Democratic power in Maine and win elections up and down the ballot in 2026 and beyond."
