Roksana Lecka abused her position of trust to target children at the Riverside Nursery in Twickenham Green as well as another nursery.
After Lecka's abuse was uncovered, 18 families who enrolled children at Riverside Nursery, instructed expert lawyers at Irwin Mitchell to help secure answers and compensation.
Lecka has today been sentenced to eight years in prison
Jemma Till, the expert lawyer at Irwin Mitchell representing families, said after the hearing: "Those parents we're supporting remain devastated by the ordeal their children have been put through by Lecka. She abused her position of trust in cruellest way over a number of months.
"We welcome today's sentence and hope it acts as a warning that perpetrators of such abuse will be caught and punished.
"However, serious questions remain as to how Lecka's abuse was allowed to go unchecked for several months. Now that the criminal case has concluded, we continue to support families. Our focus is now on securing families, who will continue to be affected by Lecka's actions for years to come, with the further answers they deserve."
The parents of one child Lecka admitted to assaulting and who are being supported by law firm Irwin Mitchell, said after the hearing: "The last year or so and trying to come to terms with what our child suffered, has been incredibly difficult. We've been on a rollercoaster of emotions and feel hurt and angered by what our child endured.
"Whilst we're relieved Lecka has been stopped and dealt with by the courts, the effects of what happened still impact on our family. We're now nervous about letting our child out of our sight and into the care of others, a position no parent should find themselves in.
"Our main focus now is on supporting our child and trying to put this sad chapter behind us. However, we feel lessons need to be learned from what we and other have families have had to go through so others don't in the future. We wouldn't wish what we've experienced on anyone."
Lecka was charged with 24 counts of wilfully assaulting and or ill-treating children. The charges related to a total of 23 children at the Riverside Nursery in Twickenham Green and one at a different nursery.
During her trial earlier this year, she pleaded guilty to seven offences. Following the trial lasting a month in June, Lecka, then 22 of Hounslow, was found guilty on 14 of the 24 counts. She was acquitted of the remaining three.
