WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) has named CesiumAstro Inc. the Make More in America (MMIA) Deal of the Year, recognizing a transaction that strengthens domestic advanced manufacturing capacity in one of the most strategically important sectors of the modern economy: space-based communications.

The award recognizes CesiumAstro's efforts to significantly expand its U.S. production capacity as demand grows for advanced satellite communications systems used across commercial, defense, and aerospace applications. The small business requested a $185 million direct loan to support the purchase of a new commercial manufacturing facility in Austin, Texas, as well as critical infrastructure upgrades and the procurement of advanced capital equipment. The investment enables CesiumAstro to expand its production footprint and deliver high-volume, high-reliability systems at commercial scale.

"Transactions like this one show what it really means to invest in the future of American manufacturing," said EXIM President and Chairman John Jovanovic. "By backing companies like CesiumAstro, EXIM is helping scale cutting-edge technology here at home while ensuring the United States stays ahead of the curve in sectors like space communications that will define the next era of American competitiveness."

A U.S.-based manufacturer, CesiumAstro builds advanced satellite communications systems that help spacecraft, aircraft, and ground networks stay connected. Its technology is used to transmit large volumes of data from space more efficiently and reliably, supporting commercial satellite networks as well as defense and aerospace applications.

The financing underscores EXIM's continued focus on strengthening U.S. leadership in critical and emerging technologies, while ensuring domestic manufacturers have the capacity to meet surging global demand. By enabling CesiumAstro's expansion, the transaction supports broader efforts to reinforce U.S. industrial competitiveness in the rapidly evolving space economy.
