Galliford Try has once again been recognised as one of the UK's Top 50 Employers of Veterans, ranking 20th in the highly regarded 2026 GREAT British Employers of Veterans programme and moving up 20 places from its position in last year's list.
The 50 GREAT British Employers of Veterans is the UK's leading benchmark for organisations that employ veterans and wider members of the Armed Forces community. This annual ranking recognises employers that show a strong, long-term commitment to supporting ex-service personnel, reservists, and military families.
Galliford Try's continued inclusion in the 2026 list reflects its ongoing commitment to building supportive career pathways, including initiatives such as Refer Your Military Network. Since signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2016, the Group has also worked closely with the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) to help service leavers successfully transition into civilian careers and has received the Gold Award in the Ministry of Defence's Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) the highest honour available acknowledging the organisation's exceptional commitment to supporting those connected to the Armed Forces.
This milestone comes with more success, following recognition for Peter Fish, Senior HSE Advisor at Galliford Try Infrastructure, who was highly commended in the Role Model of the Year category at the British Ex-Forces in Business Awards on 25 June 2026. Peter was recognised for his outstanding achievements in his civilian career, alongside his commitment to inspiring, mentoring and championing fellow service leavers as they transition from military to civilian life.
In addition, Kevin Fenton, Site Agent for Galliford Try Infrastructure , was a finalist in the Engineering Excellence Award; John Room, Geospatial Engineer for Galliford Try Environment was recognised for New Service Leader of the Year ; and Michael Pryce, Project Manager for Galliford Try Environment was recognised for the Military Values in Business Award.
Lorraine Beadell, HR Business Partner who leads the Military Programme at Galliford Try, said: "We're proud to be recognised as a top employer of veterans, committed to supporting Military leavers, veterans, cadet force adult volunteers and reservists. Ex-Forces personnel bring invaluable skills and experience, and through buddy systems, tailored placements and veteran-led programmes, we support their successful transition and celebrate their contribution."
