From 9-10 April the EVA, represented by David Irvine, had the pleasure to attend the Asia Vending & Smart Retail Expo in Guangzhou (China).
The event allowed the EVA to (re)connect with leaders from vending associations in other world regions, including the Asia Pacific region, Brazil and Australia, as well as with EVA members and colleagues and friends from across Europe. While a number of EVA members were exhibitors, the vast majority of companies were of course Chinese players. A growing number of these however are now established in the European market, with some expected to be present at Venditalia this year.
The EVA was pleased to share our latest activities as well as recent developments in the wider European market during the global industry forum on 9 April. Part of the presentation also touched on the key legislative requirements needed to place machines on the EU single market
It was furthermore very interesting to compare trends and concepts with those in the Chinese and wider Asian market, with many new innovations being presented at the show - including many robotic solutions for unattended coffee. On a wider note, it does seem that vending right across the world - and not just in Europe - is currently experiencing an exciting transformation.
The EVA was in addition delighted to be awarded with a Distinguished International Partner Award by the Asia Pacific Vending Industry Association.
