The Nashville Office of Emergency Management (OEM) Emergency Operations Center remains activated and is actively monitoring volunteer efforts taking place across the county this morning as recovery continues following Winter Storm Fern.
Community members have mobilized in large numbers to support neighborhood canvassing and debris removal, reflecting the city's ongoing commitment to helping residents recover safely and efficiently.
Volunteer Efforts Underway
Hands On Nashville (HON) is coordinating volunteer opportunities in support of Winter Storm Fern recovery. Today's community-wide service initiatives are focused on debris cleanup and assisting impacted neighborhoods.
Residents interested in volunteering or learning about additional service opportunities can visit United Way's website for registration details and guidance.
Outdoor Warning Siren Test Postponed
Due to the significant number of volunteers working throughout the community today, the decision was made to postpone the monthly outdoor tornado warning siren system test. This adjustment was intended to prevent unnecessary concern and avoid disrupting active recovery efforts.
The siren test will resume during the next regularly scheduled testing period.
OEM will continue to provide updates as recovery operations progress and encourages residents to remain weather-aware and prioritize safety while participating in cleanup activities.
