An agreement was reached during the visit of First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Chairman of the Russia-Indonesia Joint Commission for Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation Denis Manturov to the Badminton Association of Indonesia in Jakarta to organize a match between the Russian and Indonesian national badminton teams.
The event contributed to the ongoing development of a meaningful dialogue between Russia and Indonesia that will continue when an Indonesian delegation visits the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (18-21 June 2025).
Members of the Indonesian national team took to the courts to demonstrate their skills and held training sessions with members of the Russian delegation.
The National Badminton Federation of Russia also signed a cooperation agreement with the Badminton Association of Indonesia. On hand to sign the agreement were President of the National Badminton Federation of Russia Andrey Antropov and Chair of the Badminton Association of Indonesia Mohammad Fadil Imran.
"We find it significant that badminton is receiving attention at high level meetings. Indonesia is a global leader in our sport, and cooperation with the Badminton Association of Indonesia will definitely further the development of badminton in Russia. Matches between the Russian and Indonesian national teams will be landmark events for our teams,"Andrey Antropov said.
As part of his working visit to Indonesia, Denis Manturov took part in the plenary session of the Russia-Indonesia Business Forum, 'Russia-Indonesia: Strategy of Partnership'. Forum participants discussed important issues facing bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, industry, agriculture, energy, transport, tourism, and the creative industries.
The Forum was organized by the Roscongress Foundation in conjunction with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
