Organisers have hailed Hull Fashion Week a resounding success after a week long series of events saw students, fashion designers and businesses come together to create the biggest ever fashion event in Hull and the first Hull Fashion Week for 10 years.
Hull based designers, Richard Allen jewellery were actively involved in all 5 events with presentations and discussion revealing how the brand had to showcase in London because of the lack of opportunities locally, the main reason Hull Fashion Week was created.
Richard said,
"There aren't really any major opportunities in the area for a new jewellery or fashion brand. It made sense for us to promote ourselves in London where we would get more exposure. And these new designers are experiencing the same thing. This then means that we are losing new talent when we should create more openings in and around Hull."
Richard Allen Jewellery also supplied jewellery worn by presenters Lexi Jo, Shannon Chishom-Harris and Dana Lisova at the 3 main catwalk events, the Vision Reveal, The Hair and Beauty Walk and The Grand Finale. On top of that, they partnered with Grace Wilson Fashion for the company's main event walk, matching jewellery to the clothing brand's new range.
But that's not all. Richard Allen Jewellery promised a sneak preview of the new collection with models Callum Pickering and Marius Walsh modelling Forbidden Colour, the new range to be launched in July. This preview introduced the brand's move into base metal jewellery for 2026.
Hull Fashion Week and the driving force behind it, fashion designer Seguntuyi Onakoya of House of Tuyi, have really given a burst of optimism and hope to the area's new designers and aspiring models.
Richard finished by saying,
"The whole event has really given a platform for the new designers creating the next generation of fashion and jewellery brands and Hull Fashion Week can only get bigger and better".
