The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 8 southbound at the Exit 5 off and on-ramp from Route 108 in Trumbull. This project is scheduled to occur on Thursday, May 7 and be completed on Saturday May 9, 2026. The project DOT01730543CN consists of milling and resurfacing the Route 8, Exit 5 off and on-ramp from Route 108 and Route 15. This project is scheduled to begin milling and resurfacing by Waters Construction on Thursday, May 7 to Saturday, May 9, 2026
This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 8 southbound at the Exit 5 on and off-ramp from Route 108 and Route 15 southbound. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Thursday night to Saturday morning.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
