On the occasion of her 7 - 8 May visit to the Republic of Moldova, Kaja Kallas, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission met with staff of the European Union Partnership Mission (EUPM) in Moldova highlighting the European Union's continued commitment to strengthen Moldova's resilience and security.
The meeting brought together EUPM personnel and EU Delegation colleagues and provided an opportunity for a quick exchange on the EU's support to Moldova and the future of EU civilian CSDP missions and the expertise that missions such as EUPM Moldova could share with EU Member States.
In her address to staff, High Representative Kallas acknowledged the important role played by EUPM in supporting Moldovan authorities to address hybrid threats and strengthen the country's overall resilience.
Newly appointed Head of EUPM Moldova, Kirsten Joppe, had a brief exchange with the HRVP on the mission's work in Moldova and its forward-looking priorities.
During a press conference, HRVP Kaja Kallas underscored the important EUPM Moldova support to Moldovan institutions to build long term resilience, including against foreign interference.
The visit underscored the EU's enduring partnership with Moldova and highlighted the EU's continued support to Moldova, promoting stability, security, and resilience in the country.
