UPDATE ON MALAYSIANS AFFECTED BY BUILDING COLLAPSE IN ANGELES,

THE PHILIPPINES

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirms that two Malaysian nationals were affected by the building collapse in Angeles, Philippines, on 24 May 2026.

One Malaysian national affected by the incident has been confirmed safe and unharmed. The Embassy of Malaysia in Manila has provided the necessary consular support to the individual.

The Ministry also confirms with deep regret that another Malaysian national affected by the incident has passed away. The next-of-kin has been notified, and the Embassy of Malaysia in Manila is extending the necessary consular assistance to the family, including assisting in facilitating funerary arrangements.

The Ministry extends its heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased during this difficult time. The Ministry also expresses its appreciation to the relevant authorities in the Philippines for their assistance and cooperation in this matter.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates its commitment to safeguarding the welfare and safety of Malaysian citizens abroad.
