CONCORD, NH - Today, Governor Kelly Ayotte met with employers participating in New Hampshire's Recovery Friendly Workplace program to receive an update on how the program is working and discuss how the State can continue to support Granite Staters in recovery.
"Our Recovery Friendly Workplaces play a critical role in supporting Granite Staters recovering from substance use disorders," said Governor Ayotte. "I was glad to hear directly from Recovery Friendly Workplaces about the great work they're doing during our meeting today, and I'm proud we have added four new employers to the program in the last month. New Hampshire will continue to provide a hand up to people in recovery and make substance use disorder treatment a key part of our efforts to strengthen health care in our state."
Over the last two weeks, Governor Ayotte has participated in Recovery Friendly Workplace designation ceremonies for the United Way of Greater Nashua, the Kingswood Youth Center, Ray's Electric and General Contracting, and Crossroads Recovery Center
"When employers invest their efforts into becoming a Recovery Friendly Workplace, they are strengthening their workforce and our community. Granite United Way is proud of our team that administers this important program, and we were glad to sit down with Governor Ayotte and some of our Recovery Friendly Workplaces today to discuss how it is making a difference. We're excited to have welcomed four new employers to the program in the last month and look forward to its continued growth," said Nichole Martin Reimer, President and CEO of Granite United Way.
First established by former Governor Chris Sununu, the Recovery Friendly Workplace program helps employers support people recovering from substance use disorder. The program equips businesses with resources, tools, and guidance to reduce stigma and create a workplace culture that supports recovery and employee success. Governor Ayotte's budget fully funded the program, which is administered by Granite United Way.
