Rep. Juan Vargas Statement on the Supreme Court Decision to Strike Down Donald Trump’s Illegal Tariffs

WASHINGTON - Today, U.S. Representative Juan Vargas (D-CA-52)released the following statement on the Supreme Court's decision to reject President Trump's illegal tariffs.

"This is exactly what we've been saying from the beginning - Trump's tariffs were absolutely illegal. Authority to impose tariffs rests solely with Congress, not the President. Trump violated the Constitution and made life more expensive for families across the nation in the process. It's time for Trump to drop his disastrous economic policies and actually address the affordability crisis he's fueled."
