On February 4, 2026 the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, participated in the seminar "Belarus and Southeast Asia: Seeking New Cooperation Prospects," organized by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
In his speech and during the subsequent discussion on developing relations with the countries of the region, S.Lukashevich noted that Belarus considers Southeast Asia one of the most important regions in the world for advancing the country's political and economic interests. Developing mutually beneficial cooperation with the states in this part of the world, including through inter-parliamentary channels, remains a key priority of our country's foreign policy.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Indonesia and Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to ASEAN, Raman Ramanouski. The diplomat briefed the deputies on the primary areas of engagement with the Association.
